The notary's role in the sale: transfer, mortgage discharge, and arrangements with the buyer.
As seller, you work with the notary to legally transfer the property to the buyer. This often happens on the same day as the buyer’s transfer.
What does the notary arrange?
The notary drafts the transfer deed, handles registry formalities, and coordinates with the buyer’s mortgage lender when needed.
Preparation
Make sure charges, easements, and outstanding items are known; the notary will reflect these in the deed.
